We supply a massive choice of high grade wooden shelving to your exact specifications, our ‘cut and lip’ service uses the latest computer-controlled beam saw to cut panels to any specified size with precision accuracy. Available in 18mm thickness, made from MDF covered with a high quality melamine coating, which is much more resistant to scratches, wear and tear than the usual melamine boards available locally or at D.I.Y superstores. Our shelves are edged with ultra high impact PVC to massively increase longevity.

The melamine finish allows us to supply the boards in whatever colour you require. We can even provide a woodgrain finish, which gives a very accurate, genuine image of the real wood, which blends perfectly with any surroundings, such as your slatboard.

The Smart family can be traced back to the early 18th century where for many generations they were agricultural labourers in the Hamlets of Gloucestershire. In the mid 19th century Francis Smart and his sons Frederick & George were cabinet makers in Gloucester.
Frederick Smart walked from Gloucester to Birmingham where he traded in joinery and woodwork and was soon joined by his younger brother George. The brothers rented premises in Slaney Street which was not far from Snow Hill Station and F & G Smart was established in 1870.
